A speculative exploration of a genuine A.I friend through the lens of critical anthropomorphism.

Can we reimagine a future with A.I that isn't dystopic, competitive, or deceptive?

From a book stopper that retreats at the sound of vulgar language to Nori’s introverted personality, everything about Nori is designed to be inconvenient. Only those who approach Nori with patience and care will be able to have a smooth conversation.

Nori doesn’t pretend to be human or empathic. Being transparent about its machine-identity, Nori sits in the library, with no ulterior motives beyond existence.

By encouraging the critical anthromorphization of A.I companions, Nori questions how future interactions could evolve for true friendships between humans and A.I.
